DRIVING TO THE OPELOUSAS INN Take I-10 to New Orleans, head toward the Westbank 90, exit Tchoupitoulas Street - last exit before heading over Mississippi River Bridge. Exit and stay straight until you reach Convention Center Boulevard (do not take Tchoupitoulas). Go left at the Convention Center. Convention Center Boulevard ends at Poydras (Harrah's Casino). Go right at the light and then take an immediate left (Harrah's Casino will be on your left.) At Canal Street, go right and board the Canal Street ferry. The ferry is free and it departs from Canal Street on the hour and on the half hour. Once across the river, exit the ferry and go left at the Dry Dock Cafe (Delaronde Street) take Delaronde to Verret Street. Go right on Verret to Opelousas Avenue. Go right on Opelousas Avenue and we are the second building on the right hand side. This is the best way to reach the inn and will familiarize you with the neighborhood and the French Quarter area. VIA TAXI FROM THE AIRPORT - IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOUR DRIVER FOLLOWS THESE INSTRUCTIONS! Take 1-10 toward downtown New Orleans and follow the signs to the Westbank and Mississippi River Bridge. Cross over the bridge to General DeGaulle East exit - take the ramp to the left stay left and continue to the traffic light. Go left at light Shirley Drive. Follow Shirley Drive to the end. There is a traffic signal, here you will go left. At the next traffic light go right onto Behrman Place. Behrman Place turns into Opelousas. Follow Opelousas Street to Algier's Pointe and we are located at 434. Average taxi fare from the airport with tip is $35.00 We recommend that you call Elliott Flood with United Cab at 504-363-4115 at least 24 hours in advance to schedule your airport transfer. He will track your flight and meet you near baggage claim upon arrival.
